You Must Think Us Immortal part 2: Do Vampires Love?

You must think us immortal
A joke to you, as you chortle
Mirth and merriment, life’s satire
We must be like a Vampire
As we watch you sink
Into old age, in just a blink

Do vampires love? Yes we do
We love you so much, if only you knew
We love more than you know
The problem is we live longer
But that makes our love stronger
And as we wrap you up in cotton wool
You stare into our eyes thinking…..
You must think us immortal

And yet…..
The moon and sun rise the same
As we curse and look for something to blame
We can’t stop time ticking away
As you age more in the same day
Our love we have for you is eternal
Yet only one of us is immortal

How many times have I held you
How many times have I loved you
How many times have you made me smile
And whilst we bond as two souls in a vile
Forever we mix and combine as something special
As you evaporate in our hands so cold and cool
You must think us immortal

You don’t see our tears for your passing
And cry for a miracle asking
"Why! How? What If? If Only"
You don’t see us become lonely
We will meet again, as even vampires die
Immortality is an actual lie
As even greatest Deity with their greatest tool
Knows that only our love for you, is immortal.

For Maurice: 15/03/2005 to 30/11/2023: ( my love for you will last for all eternity)
